Bathrooms

As an artist, one of my favorite design jobs is choosing paint colors and finding just the right art and wall decor for clients. This home’s owner is a master gardener who leans toward a combination of organic and traditional styles. She and her husband had recently renovated their primary bathroom and needed direction on a paint color, art, a new bathtub stool, and rugs. I chose a warm white which creates a clean and soothing backdrop for her plants and the vintage prints and paintings that I collected from various flea markets and antique shops. The stool was a FB Marketplace find that adds some warmth with the natural wood grain. The green accent rugs bring a cozy feel that pulls together this gorgeous bathroom sanctuary.

I was thrilled to be asked to design and style an entire home for a new Airbnb in Lexington. For this primary bathroom. I decided on a clean, spa like aesthetic. I used a grasscloth wallpaper in blues and grays to add texture and interest (I do my own wallpapering if you need that service!) and a light blue and white hex floor tile for a bit of fun and a retro nod to this 1950s home. The wood tones of the vanity, hooks, and ladder baskets give it an organic touch.

A recent client saw a stunning ceiling mural at a tea room in Nashville and decided that she had to have a similar one in her Victorian inspired home. Her powder room seemed like the perfect spot for it, so here is my very first ceiling painting! She wanted a “happy” sky with puffy clouds and two birds flying near the chandelier. I hope she and her guests will enjoy this sweet surprise up above!
