Primary Bedrooms

This lovely couple wanted a “grown up” bedroom that felt pulled together, serene, and traditional. We chose a soft blue, ivory, and light natural wood palette to give it an airy and peaceful atmosphere. All existing furniture remained which I always welcome! I added new rugs, bedding, lamps, curtains, art, plants, a bench, and some baskets for organizing. It came together beautifully, and they were so happy for a calm retreat from their busy life.

Any time I think of a bed and breakfast, the vision of this lovely room is what comes to mind! My client lives in a historic Victorian home, and she wanted a softer, lighter look in the primary bedroom. She requested that we keep the wall color, so I chose a wallpaper with an ivory background and lilacs to brighten up the space. The ruffled sage green curtains bring in a feminine touch along with the gold peacock lamps and cozy bedding. I incorporated existing bedside tables and a bench, and I found the carved cane headboard on FB Marketplace which I painted a pale green to coordinate with the color scheme. The rug lightened up with dark painted wood floor and completed the whole transformation.

This bedroom is one of my personal favorites! The owners of this home worked for years to renovate every inch, but their room needed a big injection of style and cohesion. They needed a real respite from their busy lives at the end of the day. We chose a stunning and romantic wallpaper for the accent wall, and a very pale green for the walls. I spent many weeks searching FB Marketplace and peddlers malls for mirrors, side tables, a headboard, lamps, and accessories. I painted all of the wood pieces ivory including the $25 headboard (!!). The combination of pale pink, light green, and ivory bedding, pillows, blankets, and curtains creates a soft and serene haven. After I installed this one, my client sent me a photo of the whole family and the dogs piled into the room. Everyone wanted to live in there!

I am normally a light and bright kind of girl, but I couldn’t wait to see this moody blue room come together! It was so much fun to step outside of my comfort zone. This bedroom is in an Airbnb I have been working on, and the owners have given me total freedom on designing each bedroom. There are lots of thrifted and upcycled treasures throughout including the bed frame, side table, artwork, mirror, ottoman, chair, books and decor. The blue glass pendant lighting is the icing on the cake!

Bedroom still in progress! This project has been gradual starting with the choice of paint color several months ago. The green COMPLETELY changed the room, and we have been slowly adding lamps, curtains, and art. Rugs and such are up next! The vast collection of plants in this gorgeous bedroom are a huge feature that I love. It’s exciting to work with a master gardener who truly understands the importance of bringing nature inside. Stay tuned for more photos!
