“I was insistent when building our house that I didn’t want a ‘formal’ dining room. We aren’t those type of people. Instead, I wanted a ‘flex room’. Our first Thanksgiving brought a lot of family and friends along with a table to sit in this flex room. Covid brought that room into using that table for a classroom, and I added a desk in the corner to become my ‘office’ when I worked from home. My flex room became a catch anything and everything room. It brought me anxiety just looking at the mess. I tucked my desk in a corner and tried not to think about it.
