Lexington photographer, Kaitlyn Silvestri, wanted to create the ultimate glamorous dressing room in her new studio space. Formerly a cluster of outdated and unused offices and storage rooms, this transformation required a great deal of creativity and ingenuity. We combined new chandeliers, rugs, gallons of paint, and wallpaper with upcycled furniture, mirrors, decor, and whimsical details found at local pedders malls, goodwills, and FB Marketplace. In keeping with her boho/glam style, I painted stacks of old books gold to use as risers for accessories and made moss balls for displaying bejeweled crowns and tiaras. I covered a vintage dress form with moss and butterflies to display one of Kaitlyn’s gorgeous pair of handmade feather wings. This project was truly a testament to what two creative women can do with lots of imagination and elbow grease!

A local doctor reached out to me in the hopes of turning her very drab office into an inviting, joyful spot that reflected her personality. We started with choosing a peel and stick wallpaper that would serve not only as a bold, colorful accent wall, but also give her a fabulous backdrop for zoom calls. I painted the walls a pale blue, hung the wallpaper, and then began collecting all of the furniture and decor from FB Marketplace and local vintage sellers. Almost every single item in this office was upcycled….my favorite!! The best part of this transformation was being able to give her plenty of room around her desk as well as a comfortable seating area and tea station for meetings with medical students.
